How is a marketplace different from an online store?

An online store usually sells one business’s catalogue. A marketplace brings multiple independent vendors into a shared customer-facing destination. The owner needs seller, catalogue, order and commercial controls as well as the storefront.

What can vendors manage themselves?

The intended vendor experience includes their business profile, products, availability and assigned order activity. Access and responsibilities should be configured for your marketplace’s operating model.

Can customers order from more than one seller?

The example shows one customer purchase connected to separate vendor responsibilities. Confirm the mixed-cart checkout, payment collection, shipment and return behavior for your chosen configuration.

Can I set my own commission?

Seller commission rules form part of your marketplace’s commercial setup. The calculator demonstrates a simple percentage fee only; agree the applicable order basis, exceptions, taxes, adjustments and settlement terms during configuration.

Does a seller balance mean the money is paid immediately?

No. An earnings balance and an actual payout are different steps. Order completion, returns, holds, schedules and payment-provider support can affect settlement eligibility and timing.

Who handles delivery, support and returns?

That depends on your model. Your team, vendors and delivery partners need clear responsibilities, customer-facing policies and an escalation process. Define these before launch.

Are vendor commissions the same as CartWhizz fees?

No. Your commission is the fee you apply to your sellers. CartWhizz plan costs, app add-ons and third-party service fees are separate. Review platform pricing.
