Create your online store: start with a 7-day free trial
You can create an online store with CartWhizz in an afternoon: sign up, pick a theme, add products, connect payments and shipping, then launch. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial, so you can build your store before you pay. After the trial, plans start at ₹249 a month.
Before you start
Keep these ready; none of them are needed to sign up, but you will want them before launch:
- Your store name and logo.
- Product photos, prices and stock. Phone photos are fine (tips).
- Your GSTIN, if you are registered for GST.
- A bank account for payouts and a payment gateway account (Razorpay or PayU).
The before-you-start guide covers each item.
Step 1: Sign up
Go to Start building, enter your email and verify it with the code we send. Choose your store name: it becomes your store's address straight away.
Step 2: Pick a theme
Choose the theme closest to your business. Each one comes with sample pages so you can see the finished store immediately. You can change colours, fonts and banners later, or switch themes without losing your products. Browse the themes.
Step 3: Add your products
Add products one by one with photos, prices, sizes and stock, or upload a spreadsheet in CSV or Excel with the import tool. CartWhizz AI can draft descriptions from a product name or photo.
Step 4: Set up payments
Connect Razorpay or PayU to take UPI and card payments (Razorpay setup), and decide whether to offer cash on delivery. Turn on GST so invoices carry your GSTIN and the right tax.
Step 5: Set up shipping
Choose flat or free-shipping rules, or connect Shiprocket for courier rates and labels. See shipping for small online sellers.
Step 6: Launch
Work through the launch checklist: test an order, check your policies and contact details, then share your store. Connect your own domain whenever you are ready.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Launching with sample products. Replace or hide every demo product before you share your store, or customers may order items you do not sell.
- Skipping a test order. Place one real order end to end, including payment and the confirmation email, before you announce your launch.
- Missing policies. Shoppers and payment gateways expect clear shipping, returns and refund pages; add them before going live.
- Unclear delivery promises. Set realistic delivery times for each region so customers know what to expect.
The online store launch checklist covers these and more.
