Import and export products
Use a spreadsheet to add hundreds of products at once, or to change prices and stock in bulk. Open Products → Product Import/Export.
Export
- On the Export tab, tick the fields you want under Select Fields to Export (basic information, pricing, inventory, shipping, content, SEO, relationships). Field Presets → Save Preset remembers your choice.
- Under Filters & Format, narrow by Status, Vendor or Category if you like, and choose the file format:
- International (comma, period decimal) — 49.90, best for Google Sheets and most spreadsheet apps;
- Regional (semicolon; comma decimal) — 49,90, for Excel in countries that write decimals with a comma.
- Click Export.
You can also tick products on Products → Products and export just those.
Import
- Click Download Template for a sample file with the right column headings and example rows. Fill it in (one row per product, or per variation).
- On the Import tab, upload your CSV or Excel file (or use Import from URL).
- Choose the Import Strategy:
- Create & Update All — new SKUs are added, existing ones updated;
- Create New Only — existing products are left alone;
- Update Existing Only — only changes products you already have. Products are matched by SKU.
- Map Fields — match each column in your file to a product field. Columns with the same name are matched for you; choose Skip this column for anything you don't need. At minimum Name must be mapped.
- Optional Data Modifier on a column, for example Increase by % on price for a price rise.
- Click Validate & Preview. Check Will Create and Will Update and the first rows.
- Tick Test Import (preview only) for a dry run, or click Import Now. Keep the window open while it runs.
Every import and export appears under History. If rows were skipped, click Download Errors to see why.
Images in bulk
Settings → Import / Export → Bulk Image Import (ZIP): put images in a ZIP file named by SKU (for example TSHIRT-RED-M.jpg; for more images use TSHIRT-RED-M (2).jpg) and upload it. Each image is attached to the product with that SKU. Or put an Image URL column in your import file.
Tips
- Import 5–10 products first to check the result, then the rest.
- Keep SKUs unique; they are how updates find the right product.
- Set all quantities to zero before import is useful for a full stock count: products not in your file end up with zero stock.
