Create and publish a festive kit

Marketing → Festive kits has two parts: the festive calendar and your kits.

The festive calendar

The calendar lists the next festivals (Diwali, Holi, Raksha Bandhan, Eid, Independence Day and the end-of-season sales) with their date and a Start by date, 14 days before. A label shows where each one stands:

LabelMeans
Coming upMore than 14 days away.
Start preparing nowWithin 14 days: create the kit and plan your stock.
Sale timeInside the festival's sale window (for Diwali, the 7 days before).
TodayThe festival is today.

Diwali, Holi, Raksha Bandhan and Eid follow the lunar calendar. Their dates are set per year; Eid can move by a day with the moon sighting.

Create a kit

Click Create kit next to a festival. One kit per festival and year is allowed; clicking again opens the one you have. The kit creates, all as drafts that shoppers cannot see:

PartWhat it is
Discount codeA percentage-off coupon (for example DIWALI26, 15% off) valid from the start of the sale window until the end of the festival day, in your store's timezone. It is switched off until you publish it.
Announcement barA strip at the top of your homepage with the offer and the code.
Homepage bannerA festive banner at the top of your homepage with a Shop the sale button.
CountdownCounts down to the end of the sale and hides itself when it reaches zero.
PopupShows the offer once per visitor, 5 seconds after they open the homepage.
Email campaignA draft in Marketing → Campaigns from the festival email template, with a personal coupon for each customer.
WhatsApp campaignA draft in Campaigns using your newest approved WhatsApp marketing template. If you have none, this part says Needs a template: add one in Messaging, then start the WhatsApp campaign from Campaigns.

The homepage blocks are placed above your existing homepage sections. If your active theme has no homepage layout, they show Not available and the rest of the kit still works.

Review

  • Review on the discount opens the promotion, where you can change the percentage, dates or code.
  • Review on a homepage block opens the storefront editor; kit blocks show dimmed there until they are published.
  • Open in Campaigns opens the email or WhatsApp draft.

Publish

  • Publish on one part makes just that part live, for example only the banner.
  • Publish all switches on the discount code and shows the announcement bar, banner, countdown and popup on your homepage.
  • Email and WhatsApp drafts are never sent by publishing. Send them from Campaigns, where you see the audience and who will get the message. Only customers who agreed to marketing messages receive them.

Discard

Discard kit deletes the parts that are still drafts. Parts already live stay live; change or remove them in their own page (Discounts, the storefront editor or Campaigns). After discarding, you can create the festival's kit again.
