Product Bundles

Edge cases & gotchas

  • Removing an item keeps the saving. If a shopper adds a bundle and then removes one product from the cart, the remaining products still get the bundle's discount. With a Price Override, they could pay the bundle price for fewer items, as long as the remaining items cost more than the override. Use a Percentage discount if this worries you.
  • Price changes and overrides. If you lower product prices below the override total, the shopper pays the lower normal total; the override never makes the bundle dearer.
  • Out-of-stock item. The whole bundle can't be added. Replace the item or pause the bundle.
  • Products with sizes or colours. Bundles work best with products without options.
  • Not on product pages. Shoppers find bundles only on the Product Bundles page. Promote it with a banner or a menu link.
  • Deleted product. If a product in a bundle is deleted, edit the bundle and remove it.
