What is Tracking Status?
Marketing → Channels → Tracking status shows, for each tracker your store can run:
| Tracker | Live means |
|---|---|
| Google Analytics 4 | The module is on and its measurement ID (G-…) is valid, so GA4 loads on every page. |
| Google Ads conversions | The conversion ID (AW-…) is valid. Purchase, add-to-cart and begin-checkout conversions go to the labels you set. |
| Google Tag Manager | The container ID (GTM-…) is valid. Ecommerce events are pushed to the dataLayer in GA4 format. |
| Meta Pixel | The pixel ID is valid. ViewContent, AddToCart, InitiateCheckout and Purchase are sent. |
Needs an ID means the module is switched on but its ID is empty or mistyped, so nothing loads.
Last activity
- Last purchase reported: the last order your store confirmed as a sale (at placement for cash on delivery and bank transfer, at payment for online payments). The trackers send their Purchase event for it from the shopper's thank-you page.
- Meta Conversions API (server): when the store last sent a Purchase to Meta from the server, and whether Meta accepted it. The server event uses the same event ID as the Pixel (
purchase_<order id>), so Meta counts the sale once. Only hashed customer details are sent.
Cookie consent
If Settings → Privacy → Ask before tracking is on, Google tags start in Consent Mode (no cookies, anonymous pings) and the Meta Pixel waits until the shopper accepts.
