Manage campaigns
The Campaigns tab lists every campaign made from your store, newest first. Filter by status with the tabs above the list. Choose a campaign's name to open it.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not live yet | Created paused and never gone live. Nothing has spent. |
| In review | Sent to Meta. It starts spending once Meta approves it, usually within a day. |
| Live | Running and spending, up to its daily budget. |
| Paused | Stopped by you. Nothing spends until you resume it. |
| Not approved | Meta didn't approve the ad. The campaign page shows Meta's reason in plain words. |
| Ended | Stopped for good (here, by its end date, or in Meta Ads Manager). |
| Problem | Meta reported a problem (for example missing payment details), or the create stopped half-way. The campaign page says what; pause or end it. |
What you can do
Each campaign's ⋮ menu, and the buttons on its page, offer only what its status allows:
- Go live (a paused campaign that was never live) and Resume (a paused one) show the most it can spend and your maximum daily budget, and ask you to confirm. Nothing spends without that.
- Pause stops spending within a few minutes. It doesn't ask.
- Change budget or end date: a new daily budget or end date (more than 24 hours away), in your store's time zone. Lowering the budget or ending sooner is saved straight away, even if you've since lowered your maximum. Raising the budget (never above your maximum), moving the end later or removing it lets the campaign spend more, so you confirm the new most it can spend first. Meta allows only a few budget changes an hour.
- End campaign pauses it at Meta and stops it for good here, after you confirm. It can't be restarted; what it already spent stays on your Meta bill.
The campaign page
- Budget and dates: daily budget, amount spent, start, end and when it was created.
- Who sees it, and where: countries, regions and cities, ages, gender, whether Meta's automatic audience is on, and the placements.
- The ad: a preview of the ad as it was created, in the Feed or as a Story.
- Results: the campaign's own figures over 7, 28 or 90 days or a custom range (see Instagram ad results).
If Meta stops accepting your store's sign-in, the page shows Reconnect Facebook, and the actions are unavailable until you reconnect. Live campaigns keep running on Meta meanwhile.
