What is Vendor Plans?

Vendor Plans lets you offer your marketplace sellers different plans, for example Basic, Growth and Premium, each with its own price, commission, product limit and revenue limit.

  • You: Vendors → Vendor Plans to create plans and see how many vendors use each.
  • Vendors: My Plan in the vendor panel shows their plan, usage and other plans they can switch to.

What works today

  • Creating plans with a name, description, price, period (monthly, yearly, one-time), commission %, fixed commission, product limit, revenue limit and allowed categories.
  • Assigning a plan to a vendor, or letting vendors pick one themselves.
  • Vendors see their product count and revenue against the limits, with a warning when they're close.
  • A vendor can't move to a plan whose limits they already exceed.

How plans work

  • Plan fees are charged automatically once per period (monthly, yearly or once). Each fee is recorded as a vendor debt and comes off the vendor's next payout (needs the Vendor Debts module on).
  • Product limit and allowed categories are checked when a vendor adds a product. Past the limit, or in a category the plan doesn't include, the vendor sees a message asking them to upgrade.
  • "Default plan for new vendors" is given to every new vendor automatically.

Not available yet

  • No suspension for non-payment, and no pro-rating when a vendor changes plan.
  • The plan's commission doesn't change vendor payouts. It is recorded in Vendors → Commissions → Commission Workflow, but vendor balances and payouts use the Commission Rules on the same page. To charge a vendor their plan's rate, add a commission rule for that vendor with the same %.
