What are webhooks?

A webhook sends a message from your store to another system the moment something happens: a new order, a cancelled order, a new customer, and so on. Use it to connect CartWhizz to tools like your accounting software, a WhatsApp automation tool, a warehouse system, Zapier, Make or Pabbly, without anyone copying data by hand.

Find it at Settings → Webhooks once the module is on.

How it works

  1. You (or your developer) give CartWhizz a web address (Payload URL) from the other system.
  2. You choose which events to send.
  3. Whenever one of those events happens, CartWhizz sends the details to that address.
  4. Every message is signed with a secret, so the other system can check it really came from your store.

Most no-code tools (Zapier, Make, Pabbly Connect) give you a "webhook URL" you can paste straight in. For a custom system, hand the The request that arrives and Verifying the signature sections to your developer.

Good to know

  • 14 events are available (see Event types).
  • Failed sends are retried twice (after 30 seconds and 5 minutes) if the other system is down.
  • A delivery log shows every send, the reply and how long it took.
  • Switching the module off pauses every webhook; it doesn't delete them.
