Troubleshooting and FAQ

Problem	What to do
"The Webhooks module is not enabled"	Switch it on in Settings → Modules.
Send Test fails with no status	The address is wrong, private, or the other system is down. Check the URL is a public internet address (not a local or office-network one).
Status 401 or 403	The other system rejected the signature or needs its own login. Check the secret.
Status 404	The path in the URL is wrong.
Reply time ~30 seconds	The other system is too slow. It should reply first and do the work afterwards.
Signature never matches	Your developer is re-serialising the JSON or decoding the secret from hex. See Verifying the signature.
An event doesn't arrive	Check the event is ticked and the webhook is Active.
Same order arrives twice	A retry after a slow reply. The receiver should ignore duplicates.

Do I need a developer? Not with Zapier, Make or Pabbly: paste their webhook URL and pick events. For your own system, yes.
