How the wallet works
The wallet is store credit that belongs to a customer's account. Customers see their balance and history under Account → Wallet on your store, and can spend it at checkout.
Money gets into a wallet in four ways:
- The customer tops it up (recharges) by paying online, if you allow recharges.
- You add credit by hand, for example as a goodwill gesture.
- A return is settled as store credit — the customer picks Store credit when asking for a return.
- An order is cancelled, refunded or left Incomplete after the customer paid part of it from the wallet — that part goes back automatically.
At checkout the wallet is a way of paying, not a discount. The order keeps its full price and tax; the wallet part is recorded as "Paid from wallet", and the customer pays only the rest with a card, UPI or cash on delivery. If the balance covers the whole order, no other payment method is needed. Invoices show the wallet amount as a payment.
