How payment methods work
Open Finance → Payments. Each row is one way shoppers can pay, as it appears at checkout: for example "UPI / Cards (Razorpay)", "Cash on Delivery" or "Bank Transfer".
There are two kinds:
- Online (Gateway-backed) — the shopper pays on the gateway's page (UPI, cards, net banking, wallets) and the order becomes Paid automatically.
- Offline (COD, cash, bank transfer) — no gateway. The order is created unpaid and you confirm the payment yourself with Mark as Paid.
Supported gateways: PayU, Razorpay, PhonePe, Paytm, CCAvenue, Stripe, PayPal, Square and Klarna. The money goes straight into your own gateway account; CartWhizz doesn't hold it.
Only methods that are Active appear at checkout. Sort Order sets their order.
Recommended setup for an Indian store
- One online gateway for UPI and cards (for example PayU or Razorpay).
- Cash on Delivery, with a maximum order total so you don't risk large COD orders.
- Optional: Bank Transfer for wholesale customers only (restricted to a customer group).
