What are Vendor Debts?

On a marketplace, a vendor sometimes owes you money: an overcharge you refunded, a return you paid for, a penalty, or an advance you gave them. Vendor Debts lets you record each of these against the vendor, with a reason and a description, and see what is still outstanding.

Find it at Vendors → Vendor Debts. Vendors see their own debts in the vendor panel under Debts.

Important: what works today

  • Recording, listing and cancelling debts works.
  • Debts are not deducted from payouts yet. Each debt has a Deduction Rate (the share of each payout meant to go towards it), but CartWhizz does not subtract anything when you generate a payout. Debts stay at their full amount until you cancel them. Recover the money another way, for example by generating a smaller payout or asking the vendor to pay you.
  • The module needs CartWhizz to switch it on for your store. If the module page or list shows an error that the feature is not enabled, contact CartWhizz support.
