What the shopper sees

Today

On a product set to Show "Notify me when available", shoppers currently see a normal sold-out product: no buy button and no sign-up form. The preview you see in the product editor shows the intended design, but the button is not on your live store yet.

Once the button is available

  • The shopper enters their email (signed-in customers can use their account email) and taps Notify me when available.
  • For products with variants, they sign up for the exact size or colour they want.
  • When the product is back in stock, they get one email with the product name and a link to it, in your store's email design.
  • They are emailed once. If it sells out again, they must sign up again.

Limits

  • Customers can't see a list of their alerts in their account.
  • The email has no "stop this alert" link. A shopper who changes their mind simply ignores it — they are only emailed once anyway.
