Authoring posts (rich-text editor, draft -> publish)
Open My store → Content → Blog → New Post.
Content
- Post Title — the headline.
- Slug — the end of the post's web address, filled in from the title. Keep it short, e.g.
saree-draping-styles. - Excerpt — a one- or two-line summary shown on the blog page and in search results.
- Body — the article. The editor has headings, bold, italics, lists and links. Pictures inside the body are not supported — use the Featured Image and Shop this post instead. Use headings (H2, H3) to break up long posts — they also build the table of contents.
If your store uses more than one language, you can write the post in each language; the title is required for each language you fill in.
Settings
- Status — Draft (only you see it) or Published.
- Publish on — leave empty to publish now, or pick a future date and time to schedule it (see Scheduled publishing).
- Author and Category — choose from your lists. Manage authors opens the authors page.
- Tags — separate with commas, e.g.
wedding, silk, festive. - Featured Image and Image description (alt text).
- Shop this post — search and add up to 8 products to show at the end of the post, so readers can buy what you wrote about.
Click Save Post (or Create Post).
Draft to published
Save as Draft while you work. When ready, change Status to Published and save. To take a post down, set it back to Draft.
The posts list shows each post's status (Draft, Published, Scheduled), publish date and Views.
