How orders are created

Shiprocket Checkout

How orders are created

  • Checked before it's created. CartWhizz asks Shiprocket directly for the order details and creates your order only from that answer, so fake or repeated messages can't create orders.
  • Never twice. The shopper's return, Shiprocket's update and a background check can all arrive; only one order is ever created.
  • Missed returns are caught. If a shopper closes the tab right after paying, a background check picks the order up a few minutes later.
  • GST uses the real delivery address, so an order to another state gets IGST, and one within your state gets CGST + SGST.
  • Discounts are listed separately in the order notes: your store promotions, any Shiprocket coupon, and Shiprocket's prepaid discount.
  • Address and payment method are saved as the shopper entered them in Shiprocket.

Orders that need your review

The order is still created, with a note on the order and an alert to your admins, when:

  • the address is outside your delivery areas,
  • an item sold out while the shopper was paying,
  • the amount paid doesn't exactly match,
  • Shiprocket's item list doesn't match the cart.

Read the note on the order and decide: ship anyway, contact the shopper, or refund.

On a multi-vendor store, the order is split per seller like a normal checkout.
