Receive deliveries and put stock away
Stock arrives in three stages: expected → received at the dock → put away. The purchase order line is credited once, when the units are put away.
1. Record the delivery (bill of lading)
- Create the purchase order in Suppliers & Purchase Orders as usual.
- In Products → Advanced inventory, open the Receiving tab and add a bill of lading for the delivery.
- Select the exact purchase-order lines in this shipment and the quantities. Remove lines that aren't in this delivery. The products must already be enrolled.
- Choose the Receiving bin where the delivery will land.
2. Receive at the dock
Open Scan and receive. Scan each unit's ACK with a keyboard scanner (or type it and press Enter). Scanning only looks the unit up; it shows the unit's current place and the next step. Confirm to record it as received. Received units sit in the staging bin and can't be sold yet.
3. Put away
Scan the unit again, choose the Destination shelf bin, review and confirm. The unit is now on the shelf and available to sell.
If a delivery is short
Cancel BOL cancels the lines that never arrived. Units already received stay received.
Tips
- Check the destination before confirming every scan.
- If a save is interrupted, the workspace shows it as pending. Retry the exact same operation; it won't be recorded twice.
