Set up bins and enroll products
Create bins
A bin is a real place inside a warehouse: a shelf, a rack position or a receiving area.
- In Products → Advanced inventory, open the Storage & scans tab.
- Add a bin: choose the Warehouse, enter the Bin code (for example
A-01-03), and optionally a Zone, Rack and Capacity (leave capacity empty for Unlimited). - Choose what the bin is for: a Shelf bin holds sellable stock; a Staging bin is where deliveries land first. Units in a staging bin can't be reserved for orders until they are put away.
- Create at least one receiving (staging) bin and your shelf bins in each warehouse.
Product capacity lets you limit how many units of a product fit in a bin.
Enroll a product
Enrolling moves one product from its normal stock number to unit tracking. It adds no stock: you place the product's existing units in bins.
- Open the Stock & enrollment tab and find the product.
- Check Reconciliation: the physical units, warehouse totals and reservations must match. If the product shows Review, fix its warehouse stock first.
- Click Enroll.
- Allocate the product's entire existing stock in each warehouse to real shelf bins. The quantities must match each warehouse exactly.
- Review and confirm. Each unit gets its own code (an ACK), which you can print as labels.
Only the store owner can enroll products and reconcile stock.
Limits
- Simple, stock-tracked products only; products with variations can't be enrolled.
- Returns of enrolled products need inspection; automatic gateway refunds and exchanges aren't available for them.
