What is Direct Payments?

On a marketplace, Direct Payments is meant to record, for every order, how the money splits between each seller and you (your commission), depending on each seller's payment model:

  • Marketplace Collects (default) — you collect the whole payment and pay the seller later.
  • Direct to Vendor — the seller's share belongs to the seller, and you keep only your commission.

You set the model per seller in Vendors → Vendors → edit seller → Payment & Fulfillment Settings → Payment Model. The splits are listed in Vendors → Vendor finances → Payment Splits, and sellers see theirs in their panel under Payment Splits.

Not working yet. No split records are created for new orders, so the Payment Splits pages stay empty, and choosing Direct to Vendor changes nothing at checkout. Every payment still goes in full to your own payment gateway account.

What it never did

Direct Payments doesn't move money or tell Razorpay, PayU or other gateways to split a payment. Sellers are paid through Vendor Payouts and Payout Batches, by bank transfer.

Direct Payments is for marketplaces only.
