What is Tracking Scripts?

Tracking Scripts lets you paste code snippets from analytics and marketing tools (for example Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, LinkedIn Insight or a custom pixel) into every page of your storefront, without a developer.

Find it at Marketing → Tracking Scripts once the module is on.

Each script has a name, a short slug, a placement on the page, and an Active switch.

Use the built-in modules first

For the most common tools, CartWhizz has dedicated modules that also send purchase and add-to-cart events and respect cookie consent:

  • Google Analytics 4
  • Google Tag Manager
  • Google Ads conversion tracking
  • Facebook (Meta) Pixel

Use Tracking Scripts only for tools that don't have their own module.

Limits to know

  • Only approved script sources load. A snippet that loads a file from another website only works if that website is on CartWhizz's list (see Common recipes). Others are silently dropped.
  • Custom scripts ignore cookie consent. Even if you use the Cookie Consent module, scripts added here load before the shopper accepts cookies. If you need consent for a tool, check whether it has its own module, or leave it out.
  • Scripts appear on storefront pages only, not in your admin.
