Rule types and precedence

CartWhizz checks each visitor in this order and stops at the first answer:

  1. IP Allow — if the visitor's IP matches, they are let in. Nothing else is checked.
  2. IP Block — if the IP matches, they are blocked.
  3. Country Allow — if you have any Country Allow rules and the visitor's country is not one of them, they are blocked.
  4. Country Block — if the visitor's country matches, they are blocked.
  5. Otherwise the visitor is let in.

What this means in practice

  • IP Allow beats everything. Use it for your office, your team or a trusted customer.
  • One Country Allow rule turns on "only these countries". If you add Country Allow IN, every other country is blocked, even without Country Block rules.
  • If the country can't be detected, country rules are skipped and the visitor is let in. Visitors on a VPN appear to be in the VPN's country.

Only active rules count

Rules that are switched off or past their Expires At time are ignored.
