Customer experience

What a shopper who is not logged in sees:

  1. Cart. They add products and open the cart as usual. The Checkout button takes them straight to checkout.
  2. Your details. The first step asks for Email, Full name and Phone (phone is required only if you made it required). A link lets existing customers log in instead.
  3. Address. They enter the delivery address. If they come back later in the same browser, what they typed is remembered.
  4. Delivery. They choose a delivery option, or a pickup point if you offer one.
  5. Payment. They pick UPI, card, net banking, wallet, COD or any other method you have switched on. Reward points and wallet balance are not offered to guests.
  6. Verification (optional). If you use OTP Verification for checkout, they enter a code sent to their email or phone.
  7. Confirmation. They see the order number and get a confirmation email. If you switched on Offer account creation after order, a Save your details box invites them to create an account.

Tracking the order later. Guests open Track order on your store (/order-tracking) and enter their order number and email. The confirmation email also links to their order.

If they create an account later with the same email, their earlier guest orders are not moved into the new account. They can still track those orders by number and email.
