Rule types and evaluation
A payment method is shown only if it passes every rule you set on it. Empty rules don't limit anything.
| Rule | Shown when… | Works today? |
|---|---|---|
| Minimum Order Total | the order total is at least this amount | Yes |
| Maximum Order Total | the order total is at most this amount | Yes |
| Allowed States | the delivery address is in one of these states | Yes |
| Allowed Shipping Methods | the shopper picked one of these delivery options | Yes |
| Allowed User Groups | the customer is in one of these groups | No — checkout does not check customer groups |
| Blocked User Groups | the customer is not in any of these groups | No — same reason |
Which total? The order total the shopper sees at checkout: products after discounts, plus delivery charges and tax.
When rules are checked. Every time the shopper changes something that matters (address, delivery option, cart), the payment list updates.
Before any rule: an online method that isn't fully set up (for example, missing API keys) is never shown, whatever its rules say.
