robots.txt
robots.txt is a small file that tells search engines which parts of your store to skip. CartWhizz creates it for you at yourstore.in/robots.txt.
It allows everything except:
- your admin (and the vendor panel on a marketplace),
- cart, checkout and customer account pages,
- internal system addresses.
It also points search engines to your sitemap.
You can see it under My store → SEO → Sitemap → robots.txt Preview. The built-in rules always stay; you can add your own lines underneath in Extra robots.txt rules.
Verify your store with Google and Bing
Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools ask you to prove you own the store by adding a <meta> tag.
- In Search Console (or Bing), choose the HTML tag method and copy the tag or just its code.
- Go to My store → SEO → Sitemap, paste it into Google Search Console verification (or Bing Webmaster Tools verification) and save.
- Back in Search Console, click Verify. Then submit
yourstore.in/sitemap.xml.
You can paste the whole tag; CartWhizz keeps only the code and writes the tag on every page itself.
