Sitemap
A sitemap is a list of every public page on your store. Google uses it to find new products quickly.
What is in it
- Active products, categories and pages.
- Published blog posts (unless set to not be indexed).
- Vendor shop pages on a marketplace.
- Language versions of each page, if you have more than one language on.
Inactive, hidden and deleted items are left out.
Using the Sitemap page
My store → SEO → Sitemap shows:
- Sitemap URL — copy it, or open it in a new tab.
- URL Statistics — counts per type and the total.
- Split Sitemaps — one sitemap per content type, if you want to submit them separately.
- Regenerate Now — rebuild straight away. The sitemap also refreshes on its own within an hour of changes.
- Submit to Google Search Console / Bing Webmaster Tools — opens those sites so you can paste your sitemap link.
- robots.txt Preview.
Known gap
The Sitemap Settings panel (enable a type, change frequency, priority) is only saved in your browser and does not change the real sitemap. Every active type is always included with fixed values.
