Failed deliveries, returns and exchanges
Failed deliveries (NDR)
Logistics → Shiprocket → NDR lists deliveries the courier could not complete, with the reason, attempt count and status. Common reasons in India: shopper not reachable, address incomplete, COD refused.
For each one you can:
- Re-attempt — ask the courier to try again. Add notes such as a better landmark or time.
- Return to origin (RTO) — send it back to you. RTO usually costs a return fee.
- Fake attempt report — tell Shiprocket the courier didn't really try. Add at least one proof photo and a note; the button stays disabled until you do.
Tip: call or WhatsApp the shopper before you choose. A quick confirmation saves many COD returns.
There is no separate alert for new NDRs. Check this tab, or look for the NDR flag in the Shipping Queue.
Returns
- Open the approved return in Sales → Returns.
- Click Create Shiprocket return shipment and confirm. This books a reverse pickup and charges your wallet (unless dry-run is on).
- The return is tracked back to you like a normal shipment.
Your refund steps stay the same.
Exchanges
On an approved exchange request, click Create Shiprocket exchange shipment. Shiprocket handles it as one exchange shipment, not a return plus a new order.
