What is Vendor Payouts?

On a marketplace, Vendor Payouts keeps track of what you owe each vendor for their sales, and records the payouts you make to them.

  • You see payouts at Vendors → Vendor Payouts.
  • Vendors see their earnings at Balance and their payouts at Payouts in the vendor panel, and can request a payout.

How money flows

  1. A shopper buys a vendor's product. The vendor's share (sale minus your commission) is recorded.
  2. When the order is completed (delivered), the vendor's earnings start a hold (14 days by default, set in the Commissions module as Payout hold (days)). This covers your return window.
  3. After the hold, the earnings are available for payout.
  4. You generate a payout (or the vendor requests one).
  5. You transfer the money yourself (NEFT, IMPS or UPI), then mark the payout Processing and Completed.

Good to know

  • CartWhizz doesn't send the money. Payouts are records; the bank transfer is done by you outside CartWhizz. For automatic split payments, see the Direct Payments and Payout Batches modules.
  • Payouts aren't generated automatically. You generate each one (or respond to a vendor's request).

Not available yet

  • You can't enter a bank reference (UTR) on a payout from the admin.
  • There are no buttons to mark a payout Failed or Cancelled; only Mark Processing and Mark Completed.
  • Vendor debts are not deducted from payouts (see the Vendor Debts guide).
