What is Multi-location Stock?

The Warehouses & Multi-location Stock module lets you keep stock in more than one place, for example your shop in Jaipur, a godown in Sanganer and a fulfilment centre in Bhiwandi. Each location has its own stock, and the quantity shoppers can buy is the total available across all active locations.

Find it at Products → Warehouses.

What you can do

  • Add one warehouse per physical place, and choose a default.
  • Type the stock on the shelf for each product and variation, per warehouse.
  • Move stock between warehouses with a transfer.
  • Import stock from a CSV file.
  • Optionally track bins (aisle, rack, level) inside a warehouse.
  • See a History of every stock change: who, when, why and by how much.

How orders use it

When an order is placed, stock comes out of the default warehouse first, then the others in the fulfilment order you set. If no single warehouse has enough, the order is split across them. If all of them together don't have enough, the order is refused, so you don't oversell. Cancelling or refunding puts the units back where they came from.

Point-of-sale sales take stock from the register's own warehouse. Purchase orders (Suppliers module) add stock to the receiving warehouse.
