What is Data Feeds?

Data Feeds turns your product catalogue into a file that shopping and ad platforms can read — for example Google Shopping (Google Merchant Center) and the Facebook / Instagram catalogue (Meta Commerce Manager). Each feed has a private web address you paste into the platform, so it can fetch your products.

You manage feeds in Marketing → Channels → Data Feeds. Data Feeds is part of every store.

There are three feed types:

  • Google Shopping — an XML file in Google's format.
  • Facebook — a CSV file in Meta's catalogue format.
  • Custom — XML, CSV or JSON for other uses.

For each feed you choose which products go in (by category, seller, price, stock).

Known problems — not ready for Google or Meta yet:

  • The Public Feed URL doesn't work — it shows "page not found" to anyone who opens it, including Google and Meta. Open generated file uses the same address, so it fails too.
  • Product links and image links are incomplete in the file (just the product's short name and an image path, without your store's web address). Google Merchant Center and Meta reject products without full links.
  • Automatic refresh doesn't run. Whatever schedule you pick, the file only updates when you click Generate Now.
  • Field Mapping has no effect. Every Google feed has the same fixed columns, every Facebook feed the same CSV columns, and a Custom feed reuses one of those (or a fixed JSON).
  • The product code (SKU) is also sent as the barcode (GTIN), which Google may flag as invalid.

Until these are fixed, use Google's and Meta's own options (for example uploading a spreadsheet you export from Products → Product Import/Export).
