Admin settings walkthrough
The PayU settings live in one card: Finance → Payments → open your PayU method → Configuration tab → Express Checkout (Quick Checkout). Where the button shows is set on a separate page, Finance → Quick Checkout.
The card only appears on PayU payment methods. At the top it reminds you: "Requires Checkout Express to be enabled on your PayU merchant account. Ask PayU to switch it on for this merchant key before you turn it on here."
Remember to save the payment method after any change.
Enable Quick Checkout
Default: off.
The main switch. When it is off, the button never shows. When you turn it on, the rest of the options appear.
Where the button shows
Set on Finance → Quick Checkout, one page for every one-tap checkout button (PayU and Shiprocket). For each place (Cart page, Cart drawer, Product page) you switch the PayU button on or off, and when more than one provider is on, choose which one is Primary and the order of the others. Default: on everywhere.
The same page shows each provider's status and last-30-day clicks, completed orders and conversion.
Signed-out shoppers see Quick Checkout only when guest checkout is allowed.
Button label
Default: empty, which shows "Quick Checkout".
Type your own text to replace it, for example "Buy in one tap". The limit is 40 characters. Spaces at the start and end are removed. Leave it empty to go back to the default label.
Cash on delivery
Offer cash on delivery — default: off.
When on, shoppers can choose COD inside PayU's sheet. A COD order is created unpaid, like any other COD order.
COD fee — default: 0 (no fee). Only shown when COD is on.
The fee is added to the order total when the shopper chooses cash on delivery. Enter it in your store currency, for example ₹49. Use 0 for no fee. The fee is passed to PayU when the sheet opens, and it appears on the order as a surcharge.
PayU sheet options
These control PayU's sheet.
| Setting | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Apply the best PayU offer automatically | On | PayU applies the best offer from your PayU dashboard without the shopper picking it. |
| Shopper can edit phone number | Off | Lets the shopper change the phone number inside the sheet. |
| Shopper can edit email | On | Lets the shopper change the email inside the sheet. |
| Email is required | Off | Makes the shopper enter an email before paying. |
The phone number is always verified by PayU's OTP.
Things the card does not have
- No separate test switch. Test or live follows the PayU method's Environment field.
- No separate keys. Quick Checkout uses the method's Merchant Key and Salt.
- No shipping option. Shipping always comes from your store's own shipping rules (see Shipping, tax and discounts).
More than one PayU method
If you have several active PayU methods, the storefront uses the first active one (in your payment method order) that has Quick Checkout turned on. Keep Quick Checkout on for one method only to avoid confusion.
Turning it off
Turn off Enable Quick Checkout and save. The button disappears from the storefront. A payment that a shopper made just before you switched it off still settles normally and still creates its order.
