Troubleshooting
The Quick Checkout button does not show
Work through this list:
- Is Quick Checkout on? Finance → Payments → your PayU method → Configuration → Enable Quick Checkout is on, and you saved the method.
- Is the PayU method active? An inactive method cannot run Quick Checkout.
- Is the button on for this place? Check Finance → Quick Checkout: PayU must be on for Cart page, Cart drawer or Product page.
- Are you signed out? Signed-out shoppers see the button only when your store allows guest checkout. Sign in, or allow guest checkout.
- On the product page: is the product in stock and for sale, with a visible price? Has an option (size, colour…) been chosen? The button waits until it has.
- Is the cart empty? There is nothing to buy.
- Did you just change the setting? Reload the storefront page. The storefront reads the setting once per visit.
The button shows, but the PayU sheet does not open
- The shopper sees "We could not open the payment window." Check that PayU has enabled Checkout Express for this merchant key.
- Check that the method's Environment matches the keys: test keys need Test (sandbox), live keys need Live (production).
- A browser extension that blocks scripts can stop PayU's sheet from loading. Try a private window.
"This product is currently unavailable" on Quick Checkout, but the normal checkout works
Quick Checkout prices delivery for your own store location before the shopper picks an address. If no delivery shipping method covers your store address, it cannot price the order.
- Check that your store address (country, state, pincode) is set in your store settings.
- Check that at least one delivery shipping method (not store pickup) covers that address, for every seller.
The same message also appears when an item in the cart can no longer be sold.
"Quick Checkout is not available right now"
- Quick Checkout was switched off, or switched off for this place, after the page loaded. Reload the page.
- The PayU method has no Merchant Key or Salt. The button can show, but a session cannot be signed without them. Fill both in and save.
A shopper says they paid but there is no order
- Look for an admin alert titled "Quick Checkout payment without an order". It has the PayU transaction ID and amount.
- If the payment is less than a few minutes old, wait: your store checks open Quick Checkout sessions with PayU every 5 minutes and creates the order when PayU reports it paid.
- If there is still no order after 10 minutes, find the payment in your PayU dashboard and check that its transaction ID matches a Quick Checkout session. Your store stops checking a session 2 hours after it started.
- Create the order by hand, or refund the payment in your PayU dashboard.
An order is not marked paid
- COD orders are unpaid by design until the cash is collected.
- An order flagged Amount mismatch is deliberately not marked paid. Compare it with the payment in your PayU dashboard. See Orders flagged for review.
The shipping fee looks wrong
Quick Checkout charges your store's shipping rate for your own location, fixed when the sheet opens. It does not recalculate for the shopper's pincode. See Shipping, tax and discounts.
A coupon code was not applied
Store coupon codes cannot be entered inside PayU's sheet. Only automatic promotions and PayU's own offers apply. The shopper can use the normal checkout for a coupon.
The cart was not emptied after a product-page purchase
That is expected. Buying from the product page never touches the saved cart.
Switching on fails to save
- The button label must be 40 characters or fewer.
- The COD fee must be 0 or more.
