FAQ

PayU Checkout Express (Quick Checkout)

FAQ

Do I need to enable a module?

No. Quick Checkout is a setting on your PayU payment method. Open Finance → Payments, edit your PayU method and turn on Enable Quick Checkout on the Configuration tab.

Do I need new PayU keys?

No. Quick Checkout uses the Merchant Key and Salt of the PayU method it sits on. But PayU must enable Checkout Express for that merchant key first.

How do I test without taking real money?

Set the PayU method's Environment to Test (sandbox) and use PayU UAT test keys that have Checkout Express enabled. Quick Checkout then uses PayU's test environment.

Does it replace my normal checkout?

No. It is an extra button. The normal checkout works exactly as before.

Can I show the button only on the cart page?

Yes. In Finance → Quick Checkout, keep PayU on for Cart page and switch it off for Cart drawer and Product page.

Can I change the button text?

Yes, with Button label, up to 40 characters. Leave it empty for "Quick Checkout".

When is the order created?

Only after PayU confirms the payment (or confirms a COD order). A cancelled or failed payment creates nothing.

Can one payment create two orders?

No. Your store creates exactly one order per PayU payment, even if the confirmation arrives twice.

How do I refund a Quick Checkout order?

The same way as any other PayU order. Quick Checkout records the payment just like the normal PayU checkout.

Does Quick Checkout refund anything by itself?

No. When something looks wrong after payment, the order is flagged and your admins are alerted. You decide whether to ship or refund.

Can shoppers use my coupon codes?

Not inside PayU's sheet. Your automatic promotions are included in the price, and PayU's own offers apply in the sheet. For a coupon code, the shopper uses the normal checkout.

Why is the shipping fee the same for every address?

PayU needs the full amount before the shopper picks an address. So the fee is set when the sheet opens, using your shipping rules for your own store location. See Shipping, tax and discounts.

What if I do not deliver to the shopper's pincode?

The order is still created and flagged Undeliverable address. You decide whether to ship or refund.

Can I charge extra for cash on delivery?

Yes. Turn on Offer cash on delivery and set a COD fee. It is added to the order when the shopper chooses COD.

Will a signed-out shopper see the button?

Only if your store allows guest checkout.

Is the PayU address saved to the customer's account?

No. It is used for the order only.

Can vendors turn this on for their own PayU method?

No. The Quick Checkout card appears only for store admins, on the store's own PayU payment method.
