What is Product Moderation?
In a marketplace, Product Moderation makes sellers' new products wait for your approval before shoppers can see them. You check the name, photos, price and category, then Approve or Reject with a reason. This keeps fake, copied, banned or badly listed products off your store.
How it works
- A seller adds a product. It goes to Products → Moderation as Pending and is hidden from shoppers.
- You review it and click Approve (it goes live as the seller intended) or Reject (you write a reason).
- The seller gets an email either way. A rejected product shows the reason in their panel; when they fix and save it, it comes back to your queue.
What is not moderated
- Products you or your staff create in the admin go live straight away.
- Offers sellers create from your Master Products catalogue go live straight away, because you already approved the master.
- Edits to products that are already approved are not reviewed again. A seller can change the name, price or photos of a live product without approval. Spot-check sellers' live products from time to time.
It is for marketplace stores only.
