Getting started

SMS Notifications

Getting started

  1. Open Settings → Messaging. If no channel is on yet, click Set up SMS. (Or Settings → Modules → SMS Notifications.)
  2. Under Provider, choose MSG91, Twilio or Vonage.
  3. Copy the required details from your provider account into the credentials boxes. Secret values are stored encrypted and shown only as the last few characters afterwards; leave a secret blank to keep it.
  4. Under Delivery settings:
    • Default country — IN for India, so numbers typed as 98765 43210 become +91 98765 43210.
    • Quiet hours — optional, for example 21:00 to 09:00. Offers wait until morning; order updates and OTPs are never held.
    • Messages per second — leave 0 unless your provider asks you to slow down.
  5. Switch on Send SMS messages and click Save changes. This also turns the module on.
  6. Copy the Delivery status webhook link into your provider account, so CartWhizz learns when messages are delivered (see Providers).
  7. Click Send test message, enter your own number with country code (for example +919876543210) and send. The result shows whether the provider accepted it, and it appears in the Delivery log.
  8. Open Templates and check the wording. For MSG91, add each template's DLT template ID.
  9. Open Order updates and switch on the events you want.

Indian stores: DLT first

Before MSG91 can deliver in India you must register your business, a sender ID (header) and each message template on a DLT portal (through Jio, Airtel, Vi or BSNL). MSG91 helps with this. Messages that don't match a registered template are blocked by the telecom operator.
