What is SMS Notifications?
SMS Notifications sends text messages to your customers for order updates (placed, paid, shipped, delivered, cancelled, refunded), one-time codes (OTPs) and offers. It is off until you switch it on.
You send through your own account with an SMS provider:
| Provider | Best for |
|---|---|
| MSG91 | Indian stores. Sends DLT-registered templates only, as Indian rules require. |
| Twilio | Sending worldwide from a Twilio number. |
| Vonage | Sending worldwide from a Vonage number or sender ID. |
Where to manage it
Settings → Messaging (shared with WhatsApp Notifications):
| Page | What you do |
|---|---|
| Overview | See whether each channel is on, its provider, and the last 24 hours of sent, delivered and failed messages. |
| SMS channel | Choose the provider, enter its details, set delivery options, switch SMS on, send a test. |
| Templates | Write the text for each message and language. |
| Order updates | Choose which order events send an SMS. |
| Delivery log | See every message and why any failed. |
Offers are sent through Marketing → Campaigns, and one-time codes through the OTP Verification module. Both use the provider you set here.
