Receiving a delivery

Suppliers & Purchase Orders

Receiving a delivery

Receiving is the only step that adds stock.

  1. Open the PO and click Receive delivery.
  2. Check Receive into (the warehouse).
  3. For each line, enter the Quantity arriving. Fill outstanding fills in everything still due.
  4. Add Delivery notes if useful (for example 2 cartons damaged).
  5. Click Receive stock.

The units are added to that warehouse straight away, and the PO moves to Partially received or Received.

Rules

  • You can't receive more than was ordered on a line. If the supplier sent extra, raise a second PO for the difference.
  • Lines already fully received are skipped.
  • Pressing Receive stock twice, or retrying after a network error, adds the stock only once.
  • A PO must be Confirmed (or Partially received) before receiving, unless you turned off Require supplier confirmation before receiving.

What receiving doesn't do

  • It doesn't change the cost price on your products.
  • It doesn't add freight or other landing costs to product costs.
  • It can't be undone. If you received the wrong quantity, correct the stock with an adjustment in Products → Warehouses.
