Master Products

Getting started

  1. Switch it on. Open Settings → Modules, find Master Products and enable it (see Quick start). Products → Master Products appears in your menu.
  2. Choose the main settings. Click Configure on the module card. For most marketplaces the defaults are right:
    • Auto-promote new vendor SKUs — Queue draft master for admin review. When a seller adds a product nobody sells yet, you decide whether it becomes a master product.
    • Vendor-editable fields — Quantity, Price and Internal Code. Sellers can only change their own price, stock and private code; everything else comes from the master.
    • Default seller order on product page — Cheapest first.
    • Vendors can create their own (non-master) products — on. Switch it off only if sellers may sell from your master catalogue alone.
  3. Create your first master products in Products → Master Products → New Master Product (see Creating master products). Start with your best sellers.
  4. Tell your sellers. In their seller panel they open Master Catalog, find the product, click Sell This Product and set their price and stock.
  5. Check the queue regularly: Products → Master Products → Review queue lists products sellers added that might become new masters.

Use real codes as SKUs. Matching works on the SKU. Use the manufacturer's model number or barcode (EAN) so sellers' products match the right master.
