Quick start
What it does. Lets customers ask to return items from their order page. You set how long returns are allowed, inspect what comes back, and settle with a refund, an exchange or store credit, with optional prepaid return labels.
Who can use it
- Off until you switch it on.
- Your plan decides whether you can use it. The module card in Settings → Modules shows Not in your plan (with See plans) or Paid add-on (with Buy add-on) when it is not included. The features list shows which plans include it.
Switch it on
- In your admin, open Settings → Modules.
- Find Returns & RMA. If it is on the Installed tab, click Enable; if not, open the Browse tab and click Install.
- Click Configure to change any setting below (the defaults work for most stores).
Switching it off later stops it working but keeps its data, so switching it back on picks up where you left off.
Where to find it

- Sales → Return Reasons
Settings
- Return Window (days) — Days after DELIVERY to accept returns. Counting from the order date instead would silently shorten the window by however long shipping took.
- Require Reason
- Auto-approve Returns
- Prepaid return labels — Generate a prepaid return label when a return is approved. Needs a shipping provider configured. OFF by default — switching it on starts buying postage. Default: off.
- Who pays for the return label — merchant = the store absorbs the cost. customer = the label cost is deducted from the refund and recorded on the return so the deduction is explainable. Default: Merchant pays.
- Return label service — Which rate to buy. Cheapest is the norm for returns — the customer is not choosing it. Default: Cheapest rate.
- Deduct label cost from the refund — Only applies when the customer pays. The label cost is withheld from the refund and recorded on the return so the shortfall is explainable. Never reduces a refund below zero — a label costing more than the goods yields a zero refund, not a charge. Default: off.
