What is Returns & RMA?
Returns & RMA lets customers ask to return an order from their account, and gives you one place to approve, track and settle every return. Each return gets an RMA number (return authorisation number) so you and the customer can refer to it.
How a return goes
- After delivery, the customer opens the order in My account and clicks Request Return. They choose a reason, their preferred outcome (refund, exchange or store credit), the quantity and a note.
- You see it in Sales → Returns and Approve or Reject it (or approve automatically).
- The item comes back (optionally with a prepaid return label), you mark it received and inspect it.
- You settle it: Issue Refund, Create Exchange or Grant Store Credit.
Money
- Online payments (UPI, cards, net banking through your gateway) are refunded through the gateway automatically.
- Cash on delivery and other offline payments are recorded as refunded; you send the money yourself, for example by UPI or bank transfer.
- Store credit goes to the customer's store wallet.
You decide the return window (days after delivery), whether a reason is required, and whether returns are approved automatically. Marketplace sellers can set their own window and accepted reasons.
