Customer consent and phone numbers
Which number is used

| Registered customer | The Phone on their profile. |
| Guest | The phone entered at checkout, or else the delivery address phone. |
Local numbers are completed with the Default country code. Numbers that aren't mobile numbers are skipped and the log shows Suppressed.
Order updates and offers

| Order updates and OTPs | Always, unless the customer turned off WhatsApp order updates. |
| Offers | Only after the customer said yes to WhatsApp offers. |
Customers choose at:
- Checkout — an optional "Send me offers on WhatsApp" box, unticked by default.
- Sign-up — the same optional box.
- My account → Notification preferences → Text & WhatsApp — switches for offers and order updates.
STOP replies
If your provider forwards replies:
- STOP or UNSUBSCRIBE stops WhatsApp offers.
- STOP ALL stops order updates too.
Meta can limit or block a number that customers often report or block, so only send offers to people who asked for them.
