Admin walkthrough — preview and test

There is no preview mode, so test before you switch a rule on for everyone.

1. Save the rule as Disabled

Create the rule with Status: Disabled and check the numbers:

• Percentage: the value divided by 100 is the percent. 1000 = 10%. Typing 10 gives only 0.1%.
• Fixed amount and minimum order: the value is in paise. 10000 = ₹100. Typing 100 gives ₹1.

2. Run a test order

1. Make the rule Active.
2. Place an order on your store with your own customer account.
3. Mark the order Complete in Sales → Orders.
4. Check the rule in Auto Coupons — a new code should be listed — and check your inbox.

3. Try the code

Use the Validate Coupon box on the Auto Coupons page to check that a code is valid, then try it in the cart on your store.

Comparing two offers

There is no built-in A/B test. You can run two rules for different triggers and compare how many codes each produced and how many orders used them (see the promotion's usage in Marketing → Promotions).
