What is Auto Coupons?
Auto Coupons sends a customer their own discount code after an order, to bring them back for the next one. You set up a rule once — for example "after a customer's first order, give them 10% off their next order, valid for 30 days" — and CartWhizz creates a unique code and emails it to them each time the rule matches.
It is different from ordinary coupons in Marketing → Discounts → Promotions & coupons: there you create one code (like DIWALI20) and share it with everyone. Auto Coupons creates a new code for each customer, like WELCOME-A1B2-C3D4.
Auto Coupons can also send codes without an order: on a customer's birthday, to win back a customer who stopped ordering, and as a thank you a few days after delivery, by email or WhatsApp (see Birthday, win-back and thank-you codes).
Auto Coupons is part of every store. You find it under Marketing → Discounts → Automatic codes. The Reports tab there shows how many orders each rule's codes brought in and how much discount they gave.
How it works
- A customer's order is marked Complete.
- CartWhizz checks your active rules (first order, 3rd order, orders above ₹2,000, or every order).
- For each rule that matches, it creates a code and emails it to the customer.
- The customer enters the code at checkout on a later order.
The code works like any other coupon at checkout, with the minimum order amount and expiry you set.
When rules run: the first time an order is marked Delivered or Complete. Each order is checked once, so moving it back and forth between statuses never creates a second code. Guest orders don't get codes, because a code belongs to a customer account.
