Delivery Scheduling

Admin walkthrough

Everything happens on one page, Delivery Scheduling under Logistics, with two tabs, plus the two settings screens it links to.

1. Switch the module on

Settings → Modules → Delivery Scheduling → switch on. The module is off by default; until it is on, the Delivery Scheduling page says the feature is not available and checkout shows no calendar. Reload the admin: Delivery Scheduling and Delivery Window appear under Logistics.

2. The Delivery Slots tab

From top to bottom:

  • Scheduling rules — the processing days, the cut-off time and the time zone dates are computed in, with a warning when that is UTC. It links to Booking rules and Calendar rules (section 5).
  • A search box that matches the shipping method name, and New Slot.
  • Week at a glance — the active slots of each day, Monday first. Disabled slots are left out.
  • All Delivery Slots — Day of Week, Time Range, Label, Shipping Method, Max Orders, a Status switch, Edit and Delete.

3. Create and edit a slot

New Slot opens this form:

FieldNotes
Shipping MethodRequired: an active shipping method. It cannot be changed later.
Days of the weekMonday to Friday start ticked. Tick at least one; one slot is created for each day, all of them or none.
Start Time, End TimeStore time, start before end. The form starts at 09:00–12:00. A slot cannot cross midnight.
LabelOptional, up to 100 characters, shown to shoppers.
Max OrdersOrders the slot takes on each date, at least 1. Starts at 10.
ActiveSwitch it off to create the slot disabled.

Two slots of one shipping method cannot share a day and times, disabled slots included: the form says "A slot with these times already exists on that day." Switch the existing slot back on instead.

Edit changes one slot: its day, times, label, capacity and status. The shipping method stays. New times apply to new bookings; orders already booked keep the time they were given.

4. Disable or delete a slot

  • The Status switch takes a slot out of the calendar at once, or puts it back. Booked orders keep their delivery.
  • Delete removes a slot that has never been booked. A slot with any booking, even a cancelled one, is disabled instead, and the page says "This slot has bookings, so it was disabled instead of deleted."

5. The two settings screens

  • Booking rules — Settings → Modules → Delivery Scheduling → Configure: Days bookable ahead and Require a delivery slot.
  • Calendar rules — the Delivery Window page: processing days, cut-off time, working days and time zone on Settings, closures on Holidays. The Preview tab appears only while the Delivery Window module is on. These rules also drive the "Arrives by" estimate.

Every value is listed in the settings reference.

6. The Scheduled Deliveries tab

Every booking, sorted by delivery date and start time, 20 to a page. The tab appears for staff who can see orders.

  • Columns: Order (opens the order), Customer, Delivery Date, Time Slot, Shipping Method, Order status, and Status — Booked or Cancelled.
  • Delivery date narrows the list to one day; All dates clears it.
  • Only booked deliveries of live orders are listed. Show cancelled bookings and orders adds cancelled bookings, and bookings whose order was cancelled, refunded or failed.
  • Cancel booking (the cross icon) frees the seat after a confirmation. The order is not cancelled, refunded or changed; it simply no longer shows a delivery.

7. Run the day

Open Orders, set the Delivery date filter to the day and read the Delivery column, then print the packing slips — each carries the delivery line. Scheduled Deliveries has no export and no calendar view.
