Getting started
1. Turn it on
- Open Modules, find Delivery Scheduling and switch it on.
- Reload the admin. Delivery Scheduling appears in the sidebar under Logistics, next to Delivery Window.
You do not need to switch on Delivery Window: its settings page opens for either module, because the calendar rules live there.
2. Check the calendar rules
Open Delivery Scheduling and look at the Scheduling rules card. It shows the processing days, the cut-off time and the time zone dates are computed in. Follow Calendar rules to change them:
- Time zone. Dates use the Delivery Window time zone when one is set (anything but UTC), otherwise your store's time zone. If neither is set the card warns that UTC is used; fix that first, or "today" will be wrong for your shoppers.
- Processing days — working days you need to prepare an order. A product's own processing days replace this value; a cart waits for its slowest product.
- Cut-off time — orders placed after it start counting from the next day.
- Working days and holidays (one-off or every year).
3. Set the booking rules
Follow Booking rules (Settings → Modules → Delivery Scheduling → Configure):
- Days bookable ahead — 14 by default, 1 to 60.
- Require a delivery slot — on by default: a shipping method that has slots cannot be ordered at checkout without one.
4. Create your slots
On Logistics → Delivery Scheduling → Delivery Slots choose New Slot:
- Pick the shipping method the slot belongs to (usually your local-delivery method).
- Tick the days of the week. One slot is created for every day you tick.
- Set the start and end time (store time, start before end).
- Set the capacity — how many orders the slot takes on one date.
- Add a label shoppers see next to the time, for example "Morning".
A shipping method offers scheduling only when it has at least one active slot. Methods without slots check out exactly as before.
5. Try it
- Add a product to the cart and go to checkout.
- Choose the shipping method with slots: a Delivery date and time panel opens under it.
- Pick a date and a slot and place the order.
- The confirmation page and the order email show the delivery. In the admin, the order view has a Scheduled delivery card, the orders list a Delivery column, and the packing slip a delivery line.
Smoke test for capacity
- Create a slot with a capacity of 1.
- Place one order on it for a given date.
- Open checkout again: on that date the slot shows Full, and if it was the day's only slot the date is greyed out as Fully booked.
- Cancel the first order: the seat is free again, with nothing to do by hand.
