What is Delivery Scheduling?
Delivery Scheduling lets shoppers choose a delivery date and a time slot at checkout — "Thu, 8 October, 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM · Morning" — for the shipping methods you pick. Each slot takes a set number of orders per date, so you never promise more deliveries than you can make.
The module is off by default. Checkout does not change until you switch it on and give a shipping method at least one active slot.

- A slot is a weekly template: one shipping method, one day of the week, a start and end time in store time, an optional label and a capacity — how many orders it takes on each date.
- A booking is one order's date and slot. It is saved inside the order itself, so two shoppers can never take the last seat.
- A seat counts only while its order is live. Cancelling, refunding or failing the order frees it, with nothing to do by hand.
Which dates a shopper sees
The calendar runs from today to Days bookable ahead (14 by default). The earliest date is today — or tomorrow once the cut-off time has passed — moved to a working day, plus the processing days of the slowest product in the cart. The shipping method's estimated days are not added: they belong to the Delivery Window "Arrives by" estimate. From the earliest date on, a date is open when it is not a holiday, has an active slot on that weekday and has a seat left.

Delivery Scheduling and Delivery Window
They share one calendar but answer different questions. Delivery Window estimates "Arrives by Thursday" on product pages and at checkout. Delivery Scheduling lets the shopper choose the day and time, and holds a seat for it. Use either, or both.
What it does not do
- Let shoppers reschedule or cancel a booking themselves.
- Book a slot for a cart that ships in more than one package, or for a collection order.
- Charge a fee for a slot.
- Record whether a delivery happened: that is the order's status, not the booking's.
- Plan drivers, vehicles or zones. Capacity is per slot and date; to split it by area, give each area its own shipping method and slots.
