Common use cases
"A product I just added doesn't show up in search"
Products are added to the search index automatically when you save them. If one is still missing after a minute:
- Check the product is Active.
- Search by its exact name on the storefront.
- Still missing? Click Reindex All Products on Settings → Search Management.
"I imported a big CSV and search looks stale"
After a large import or a bulk price change, run Reindex All Products once the import has finished.
"Search shows too many or too few suggestions"
Change the limits in Products → Search Settings → Result Limits (for example Max Product Results).
"I only sell under my own brand; vendors in suggestions look odd"
Turn off Search Vendors in Products → Search Settings → Search Sources. On a single-seller store vendors are not shown anyway.
"Shoppers search for a word I don't use" (for example kurti vs kurta)
There is no synonym list yet. For now, put the common word in the product name or description, because those are what search reads.
