Reindex and status
When products update by themselves
Saving, approving, hiding or deleting a product updates search on its own within moments. You do not need to reindex after normal edits.
When to reindex
- After a large CSV import or bulk edit.
- When Indexed Products is far from your number of active products.
- When search shows a product you deleted, or an old price.
How
Settings → Search Management → Reindex All Products. It rebuilds every active product in the background. A few thousand products usually take a few minutes. Search keeps working during the rebuild.
Reading the status
| What you see | What it means |
|---|---|
| Connected | Fast search is on. |
| Disconnected + Meilisearch Unavailable warning | Search is using basic matching. Contact CartWhizz support. |
| Indexing is currently in progress... | A rebuild is running. Wait and refresh. |
| Last Indexed: Never | The index has never been built. Click Reindex. |
